Danuta Sierhuis is a self-taught fibre artist based in Katarokwi/Kingston, ON. She is particularly drawn to weaving and punch needle rug hooking for their meditative qualities and repetitive motions. Her work explores the relationships between colours, textures and shapes in minimalist designs that are in some way influenced by art history.
Her work is in private collections in Ottawa, Toronto, Montreal and Cairo (Egypt). She enjoys working on commissioned pieces and tailors them to the personality and aesthetic tastes of her clients.
